ADAPTING TO YOUR NEEDS
We know businesses face challenging times right now. If you are directly involved in the battle against COVID-19, it's vital that you continue to push ahead with innovation and R&D. That is why, for SMEs, we are boosting our funding: you now pay only 25% for the first full year of an innovation project done in collaboration with a post-secondary institution.
As well, we have streamlined our processes, so your project could be approved faster.
Applications are now closed.
But there are still opportunities for SMEs to benefit from a boost in funding on a broader range of projects.
Act quickly: submission deadline is July 1.

COVID 19-related research can require a lot of resources. So, for a limited time to address the pandemic, college students can be added to the development portion of COVID-19 Mitacs projects.
Our goal is to ensure you get the resources you need to find solutions faster.
If you are embarking on a project – or have one under way – we’ve developed a new flexible model. For the first time, we are allowing participants to work from home.
If you are able to connect virtually – and both the research talent and the business can keep in regular contact, continuing to carry out the methodologies as close to the plan as possible – then there’s no need to delay your plans.
If it’s not feasible to work remotely given the structure of the work, you can put your project on hold. Just be sure to alert your business development specialist.
Working on your projects remotely is now possible!
